It took me a couple weeks to get the first layer of oils on, but it is progress, so I'll take it!
I sat down yesterday, referred to my notes from taking Heather Bullach's
painting dapple greys in oils class and got to work.

I added a very thin layer of the color in sections, then used a mop brush
to smooth out any brushmarks before moving to the next section.

I mixed up a single shade of grey using the 3 colors above.
Note that the white and black are a fast drying oil paint formula.

The resulting shade is a little on the warm side, as I used too much burnt umber,
I'll color correct the tone in subsequent layers.
You can see how bluish the grey primer is on his legs (which will eventually be white).

Now to let him dry before the next oil layer, when I'll start introducing shading and dapples!
